Are you an Alaskan company?

Yes, Tours in Alaska is owned and operated by Alaska-based tour operators. We have offices in Juneau, Ketchikan, Sitka and Skagway.

Do you operate the tour?

Yes! We operate many of the Alaska tours that we sell online. We have over 75 motorcoaches in Alaska. For tours that include a 3-party venue or attraction, we work with trusted Alaskan operators in each of the communities, keeping everything 100% local.

What are your days/hours of operation?

The summer tour season in Southeast Alaska runs May through September. We do have employees on staff year around to answer inquiries and requests, and do our best to respond within 24 hours of receiving submissions. 

Do your tours always operate or will they cancel if there isn't enough passengers?

We are proud to say our tours are considered "Guaranteed Departures." This means all of our tours will operate regardless of the counts.

When should I book my tour?  Can I call the day of to book?

Since we work with many Alaska cruise lines, we recommend booking your tours as soon as possible to ensure availability. In Sitka, you can visit our kiosk located in the Halibut Point Cruise Terminal to book same-day tours. Unfortunately, we do not offer day-of bookings in Juneau, Skagway or Ketchikan.  

What happens if the cruise ship we are on cancels the port of call?

If your Alaska cruise ship cancels the port of call, you will receive a full refund.

What is your weather like?

The weather in Southeast Alaska is quick to change. It may be raining in the morning and sunny in the afternoon. Or it can rain all day long. Dress in layers and make sure to bring a warm jacket! While the local Alaskans may find the weather warm, you may want to think about bringing your hat and gloves, just in case! And don't forget your sunglasses.

Are your tours narrated?

Yes, Tours in Alaska's tour operators and drivers are trained in both local and statewide information. Our guides are happy to provide an informative narration throughout your guided tour and answer any questions you may have along the way.

Do you have staff to meet us?

Yes, a representative will greet you at the tour's meeting location. You will also be provided with a telephone number in your reservation confirmation to access local staff the day of your tour in case of emergency. 

Do you offer group and/or private tours?

Yes, for groups of 25 or more, we can schedule your tour for any day of the week. Contact us to learn more or set up a private group booking! 

 

 

What is your cancellation policy?

Book your tour with peace of mind. Should any changes arise and you need to cancel your tour, a full refund will be issued up to 48-hours prior to departure.
